The error-free procedure eliminates or simplifies time-consuming steps. Thus, no insertion or probing is necessary for gears. The effort is limited to the selection of the corresponding measuring program. Measurements at 100 rpm and sampling rates of 20kHz can shrink the measurement times to a few seconds.
The measuring method is particularly universal. Not only gears can be measured, but also other geometrical properties such as diameters, grades or radii can be determined without reclamping. In the measurement, the material plays almost no role, both metal and plastic plates are possible. The clamping concept includes both methods, the clamping between tips, as well as the one-sided mounting on a hydro expansion mandrel . Since a carrier can be dispensed with, the machine is also suitable for automatic loading and unloading. Even when changing between gears with module 6 and module 0.2, no effort is required for conversion, neither a probe change nor recalibration.
The accuracy of the measurements is based on the high quality of the sensors (opt. Resolution in the range of 30nm, encoder accuracy of 1.5 angular seconds) and the possibilities of mathematical compensation of axis position, concentricity and geometric deviations of the axes.
The handling is extremely simple. So neither a button change nor a recalibration is necessary. The conversion to a new test is generally reduced to the selection of the appropriate measuring program. This can be done manually via the software or a barcode reader, in automatic mode via the control of the chain. No special tools need to be used for calibration, a calibration band is integrated in the rotary table. The process is insensitive to lighting influences and the texture of the surface generally does not matter. Thus, the measuring machine is suitable both for the measuring room and for integration into production.
Intelligent software not only provides collision control to protect the expensive optical sensor, but can also automatically detect datum edges. It also supports automatic recalibration.
