The Klingelnberg PSR 500 worm gear testing device is designed for universal rolling testing of worm gear sets and was developed and manufactured taking into account the latest knowledge and experience in the field of measurement technology. Worm gear sets can be measured using a single-flank and double-flank rolling test. These test methods are particularly suitable for determining errors in the gear geometry such as concentricity and axial run-out properties, rolling deviations or pitch errors. Worm gear testing machines are used for fast 100% quality control of finished worm gear sets in order to evaluate the quality of gears. Here, a practical installation situation of a toothing outside the gearbox is simulated under real load conditions and then evaluated. Deviations in the gear geometry, machining errors due to defective tools and damage to the gear can be detected and eliminated before assembly.
